Judges Abroad: Willa Molho '21 heads to Copenhagen

Willa Molho '21 is spending her spring semester in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Hi everyone! My name is Willa, and I’ll be leaving to study abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark in less than a week! I’m a junior on the Women’s Soccer team majoring in Health: Science, Society, and Policy. I’m also on the pre-med track.

I’ve been looking forward to studying abroad for years. I’m even more excited now that I’m going so soon, even though I’m sad that I’m going to be without my family and my teammates and friends for so long.

In Copenhagen, I’ll be doing the Danish Institute for Study Abroad program and my core course is called Human Health and Disease: A Clinical Approach. This class is absolutely perfect for me. I’m planning on going to medical school or having a career involving medicine, and in Copenhagen, my class will take place in a hospital. I’ll get to learn about diagnosing and treating common diseases. On top of that, I’ll be learning these amazing things in a country with a very advanced health care system, which will help provide me with a holistic understanding of the medical field. But aside from my core course in Copenhagen, I’m also really looking forward to my other classes. Being on the pre-med track at Brandeis has left me with very little space in my schedule to take classes I’m curious about but aren’t required for my major or for medical school. So when I’m abroad, I’ll also be taking an introductory Danish language class and two creative arts classes, one of which is called “The Beautiful Game; Soccer in Contemporary Art and Culture”.

Of course, I can’t wait to travel to different parts of Europe during my breaks and even on some weekends. I’m also excited to make new friends who have had different experiences than me and to become even more adaptable as I’ll be out of my comfort zone and without a meal plan for four months!
