WALTHAM, Mass. – Three Brandeis University student-athletes were honored as University Athletic Association Players of the Week for their performances last week. Junior Sydney Goldman of Sherman Oaks, California, was named the Softball Pitcher of the Week, while sophomore Asher Kaplan of Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, took home Baseball Pitcher of the Week honors. Graduate student Jack Allan of Wrentham, Massachusetts, claimed Men's Outdoor Track and Field Field Performer of the Week.

Goldman tossed just the second perfect game in program history by striking out 13 of the 15 Worcester State University batters she faced on April 10 in a 9-0 victory. It was Brandeis's first no-hitter since 2011 and the highest strikeout total by an individual pitcher since at least 2005. Goldman set down the first nine Lancer batters swinging before a ball was put in play on a pop to second. The only other hitter to get the bat on the ball in play was a bunt that was popped to third base. Goldman needed just 53 pitches for her gem, 43 of which were strikes. Goldman had previously come within one strike of a no-hitter on April 12, 2019. This is her fourth career UAA weekly honor.

Goldman is a graduate of Notre Dame High School.

Kaplan, a sophomore, tossed his first career complete-game shutout, blanking Lasell University on three hits in a 2-0 victory on April 7. Kaplan struck out five and walked one. He retired the last 10 Lasers in a row and allowed just two runners past first base. It was Kaplan's first collegiate win and his first career UAA weekly honor.

Kaplan is a graduate of Boston Latin School.

Allan turned in the sixth-best long jump in Division III this season in the Judges' dual meet with Southern New Hampshire University on April 10. Allan leapt 7.08 meters (23 feet, 2 ¾ inches) on his third jump of the day. Allan also bested the field in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.14 seconds. This is his second career UAA weekly honor.

Allan is a graduate of King Phillip Regional High School.
