Michael Matt was named Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations in 2017. He joined the Brandeis Athletics staff in 2015 as Department Administrator, and was named Athletic Services and Team Travel Coordinator in 2016.

In his current role, Matt acts as the day-to-day liaison to Admissions and coordinates travel arrangements for all 19 varsity teams. He is also responsible for coordinating the department’s special events, managing the physical education program, supporting the business manager and event management for home basketball games. On campus, Matt serves as the liaison to the Department of Community Living and the University Registrar.

Prior to his arrival at Brandeis, Matt worked as program coordinator for the Amherst LEADS student-athlete leadership program at Amherst College. He joined the Amherst athletics staff in 2012 as a graduate assistant to the Director of Athletics. Matt began his career as the assistant sports information director at Hamilton College during the 2011-12 academic year.

Matt is a 2011 graduate of Hamilton College, where he played baseball for the Continentals. He received an MBA and MS in Sport Management in 2014 from the University of Massachusetts, where he served as a research assistant to Glenn M. Wong '74, with whom he was credited as a co-author on an article, An Inside Look at Division I and Division III Athletic Directors, published in Athletics Administration magazine.
