Baker finishes first at Lancaster Shoot

Junior Academic All-American Wes Baker posted a 568 score to finish in first place in Collegiate Men’s Re-Curve at the Lancaster Archery Classic in Manheim, PA on Sunday.  Baker’s score was 26 points clear of the second-place competitor as he dominated from start to finish in the 20 round competition.

Baker was steady throughout, finishing with a perfect score of 31 in the 20th and final round, his best round of the tournament. The 568 total was the highest he had shot in a tournament to date.

"Wes has been training hard all Fall and the adjustments to his form have helped his scores improve as well as his competitive confidence," spoke Head Coach EG LeBre after the tournament, “His win at the Classic is huge as it not only puts Wes’s name out there raising the entire archery community’s awareness of him, but of Brandeis Archery as being a great program for archers.”

Also on the day for Brandeis, senior Ricardo Chino shot a 467 and grad student Yangyi Li a 373 while on the Women’s side sophomore Arlyss Milne posted a 457.
