WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bridgewater State College baseball
team scored three runs in three different innings today to defeat
the host Brandeis University Judges, 9-2, on Stein Diamond

Bridgewater State (8-14) got hits from eight out of nine positions
in the batting order. Junior CF Andrew Dillon (Whitman, Mass.) had
the most productive day for the Bears, going 3-5 with three runs
scored, three RBI and a stolen base. He drove in the Bears' second

Brandeis (14-8-1) jumped out early with a run in the first inning
when a sacrifice fly by junior DH Jon Winston (Nanuet, N.Y.) plated
sophomore CF Chuck Sheehan (Lexington, Mass.), who had walked and
moved to third on a single by senior SS Zach Golden. After BSC
plated three in the third, Brandeis climbed within one in the
bottom of the fourth, after Golden was hit by a pitch, stole second
and came home on an RBI single by rookie RF Mike Alfego
(Shrewsbury, Mass.)
The Bears responded in the fifth, as the first three hitters
singled to score one run with Dillon's second RBI of the contest.
Sophomore catcher J.T. Mooney (No. Attleboro, Mass.) plated a run
with a sacrifice fly, while LaConte's RBI made the score 6-2.
Bridgewater State tacked on three unearned runs in the sixth inning
for the final score.
Senior Scott Favreau (Tewksbury, Mass.) improved to 2-4 on the
season for the Bears with five innings of two-hit ball. He struck
out three and walked just one. Rookie Mark Zuccaro (Hanover, Mass.)
allowed just three Brandeis base-runners over the final four
innings to earn his first career save.

going four innings and giving up four earned runs on seven hits. He
falls to 0-1 on the season.
