Livada named UAA baseball player of the week

WALTHAM, Mass. - Brandeis University junior DH Drake Livada of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, was selected as University Athletic Association's baseball Player of the Week for the second time in his career.  He has helped the Judges get to an overall record 13-19 with 10 games remaining this season.

       Livada earned these honors by hitting safely in all five games last week, going .571 (12-21) with a team-leading four RBI as the Judges won two and lost three. He had three doubles and a home run for an .857 slugging percentage. After going 1-for-4 and 2-for-4 in losses to WPI and Johnson & Wales, respectively, Livada recorded three-straight three-hit games. He went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in a 9-2 win over Salem State that snapped a six-game losing streak. In a doubleheader split with Babson College, Livada went 6-for-9 overall with three doubles, a home run and three RBI. He drove in the game-winning run in the top of the seventh in the Judges' 5-4 win in game one with a double.  This season, Livada is hitting .345 (38-110) with a slugging percentage of .482 while his 22 RBI and three home runs lead the team.

 

Livada is a 2006 graduate of Cape Elizabeth High School.  He is the son of Evan and Marcia Livada of Cape Elizabeth, Maine.
