WALTHAM, Mass. – Brandeis University rookie shortstop Nick Falkson of Dedham, Mass., has been selected to the 2015 University Athletic Association (UAA) Baseball All-Tournament team.

The 2015 UAA tournament was held March 8-15 in Sanford, Fla. Falkson led the Judges with 13 hits and a .394 batting average over the eight games. He was second in the conference in hits and sixth in batting average and on-base percentage at .487 after drawing four walks and getting hit by a pitch twice.

Falkson was one of only three Judges to play in all eight UAA contests, and hit safely in all eight. He has now hit safely in the first 14 games of his collegiate career. Falkson's best contest at the tournament was a 4-for-5 performance on March 11 against UAA co-champions Emory, ranked second in Division III at the time. He scored two runs and doubled as Brandeis battled back from allowing a 10-run inning before ultimately falling in a 12-10 loss.

Falkson also had two hits in a 6-3 loss to UAA co-champions Washington University on March 12 and in an 8-6 win over NYU on March 14.

For the season, which included six games in Florida during the Judges' February break, Falkson is hitting a team-best .421 (24-57), second in the UAA. He also ranks fifth in the league in on-base percentage (.492) and slugging (.544) Falkson leads the squad with four doubles and is second with nine runs scored. His overall best game of the season was the second game of a double-header on Feb. 20 against St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn, when he went 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs scored, a double and his first collegiate home run.

Brandeis finished the UAA tournament with a 2-6 record in the conference, 4-10 overall. The Judges are scheduled to make their first appearance up north this weekend at NYU in the Violets' first home games in 41 years.

Falkson is a 2014 graduate of Thayer Academy.
