WALTHAM, Mass. – The Brandeis University baseball team won its fourth-straight game today, collecting a season-high 17 hits, as the Judges defeated the visiting Springfield College Pride, 11-3, on Stein Diamond today. Brandeis improves to 11-14 with the win, SC falls to 3-19 with the loss.

Every Brandeis starter had at least one hit, six turning in multi-hit games. The Judges also had six players with an RBI, and four who had two each.

Leading the hit parade was junior right fielder Ryan Healy (Carlsbad, Calif./La Costa Canyon), who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Healy hit his first collegiate home run in the eighth inning, driving a pitch to right field that cleared the outfield fence and hit the adjacent softball dugout before bouncing back onto the field.

Sophomore 3B Greg Heineman (Wilbraham, Mass./Minnechaug Regional) also had three hits, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored. Sophomore LF Ryan Tettemer (Westfield, Mass./Suffield Acad.) and rookie SS Nick Falkson (Dedham, Mass./Thayer Acad.) each had doubles in the contest, with Tettemer's two-run two-bagger to left-center in the bottom of the Judges' five-run first inning providing the winning run. Tettemer moved to third on the throw and scored on a bloop hit from sophomore Remy Pontes (Arlington, Mass./Arlington).

The Judges also got some stellar bullpen work, as three relievers combined to hold Springfield to five hits and two runs over the final seven-and-a-third innings. Sophomore Anthony Nomakeo (Wesfield, Mass./Northfield Mount Hermon) entered in the second inning and went 3.1 innings, allowing four hits and two earned runs. He struck out four and earned his first win of the season, despite allowing the Pride's big hit on the day, a two-run home run to left by junior left fielder Billy Paskowski (Wappingers Falls, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) in the fifth inning.

Rookie Bradley Bousquet (Athol, Mass./Athol) followed with three perfect innings in the sixth through the eighth, recording one strikeout. Sophomore Justin Freeman (Chelmsford, Mass./Brooks School) closed things out, allowing one hit in the ninth.

Springfield had two multiple hitters, including senior 2B Shane O'Leary (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park), who doubled in the Pride's first run of the game in the top of the first, and senior CF Steve Starr (Lebanon, Conn./Lyman Memorial), who had a two-bagger in front of Paskowski's home run. Pride rookie Jack Weinberger (Sunapee, N.H./Sunapee) suffered the loss, allowing eight hits and seven runs in four innings.

Brandeis returns to action tomorrow at Johnson and Wales University in Providence, R.I., at 3:30 p.m.
