Brandeis baseball has seven named to UAA 30th Anniversary Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Throughout the course of the 2017-18 academic year, the University Athletic Association (UAA) will be releasing its 30th Anniversary teams, honoring the best student-athletes from the first 30 years of the Association. Brandeis baseball has had seven alumni named to the anniversary team, which was released on Tuesday.

Four of the seven Judges named to the team were named UAA Most Valuable players: pitchers Eric Podbelski '91 and Brian Corsetti '92, outfielder Jim Freethey '02 and catcher/DH Sean Ewers '03. They were joined by outfielder Ben Dashefsky '07, shortstop Zach Golden '06 and pitcher Tom McShane '03.

The 30-Year teams were named by assigning two points for each spot on an All-University Athletic Association first team and one point for the second team. Each student-athlete who accumulated five points was selected to the team, as were all players who earned Most Valuable Player or Most Outstanding Performer honors.
