WALTHAM, Mass. – Brandeis University graduate student Mike Khoury of E. Bridgewater, Massachusetts, added a pair of national honors after a terrific performance at the plate last week. In addition to his University Athletic Association Hitter of the Week honors, Khoury was named to the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week and was named the Division III National Hitter of the Week by the National College Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).

Khoury was virtually unstoppable for the Judges in a 4-0 week. He batted 13-for-17 with three walks, three doubles, five home runs, 13 runs scored and 13 RBI, giving him a .765 batting average, .810 on-base percentage and 1.824 slugging percentage. He had at least three hits, two RBI and two runs in all four contests, highlighted by a two-homer game in a 13-6 win over St. Joseph's (Maine) on March 18 and a walk-off single in the opener of a March 20 doubleheader against Bates that gave Brandeis a 7-6 win. With his five homers, Khoury moved into a tie for third on Brandeis's career home run list with 24. He also moved into Brandeis's career top-10 in runs scored (121, 8th) and RBI (99, T10th).

Overall this season, including yesterday's 9-0 win against Wentworth, Khoury is batting .486 with a .561 on-base percentage and 1.114 slugging percentage. He has four doubles, six home runs, 16 RBI and 16 runs scored. Thanks to his big week, as of March 22nd, Khoury led NCAA Division III in home runs per game and runs per game, while ranking third in slugging, fourth in RBI per game and 28th in batting average.

Khoury is the third player in Brandeis baseball history to earn national weekly honors from the NCWBA, joining Jon Brown '03 in 2003 and Bryan Lambert '05 in 2005. He is the first Judge honored by D3Baseball.com since Anthony Nomakeo '17 in 2017.

The 6-2 Judges return to action this weekend with games Bates on Friday, a doubleheader with Amherst on Saturday, and a matchup with Lasell on Sunday.

Khoury is a 2017 graduate of East Bridgewater High School.
