WALTHAM, Mass. – Three members of the Brandeis University softball team and one from the Brandeis baseball team have been honored by the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) as Academic All-District selections. The quartet will now be eligible for Academic All-America honors, which will be announced in June.

Sophomore catcher Tristan Boyer of Chesapeake, Virginia, was recognized for the softball team. She batted .294 with four doubles and 11 RBI last season with a .358 on-base percentage and .341 slugging percentage. She finished sixth on the team with 25 hits and seven in RBI. Boyer started 33 of the team's 38 games behind the plate and has started 68 of 76 games at catcher in her first two seasons. Boyer owns a 3.84 GPA and has not yet declared a major. Boyer is a three-time Dean's List student and has earned one Academic All-UAA accolade so far. She also serves on Brandeis Student-Athlete Advisory Committee as vice president.

Junior pitcher Alex Cohen of West Palm Beach, Florida, was also honored for the softball team. Cohen played in all 38 games for the Judges, either in the circle or as the designated player. As a pitcher, she went 10-6 with a 3.11 earned-run average. She struck out 90 batters and walked just six, ranking her third in all of Division III in strikeout-to-walk ratio. At the plate, Cohen hit .313 with a five doubles, one triple and four home runs. She drove in 25 runs and scored 23, posting a .347 on-base percentage and .482 slugging percentage. Cohen was second on the team in hits, RBI and home runs. She is a three-time All-UAA honoree and five-time UAA Player of the Week. In the classroom, Cohen owns a .370 GPA as a business major.

Senior outfielder Lily Medici of New City, New York, was the final honoree from the softball team. Medici hit .228 with two doubles and three triples this season. She had 21 hits, 11 runs scored and eight RBI. As a sophomore, she hit .300, helping the team reach the NCAA tournament for the third time in program history. Off the field, Medici will graduate with a 3.85 GPA as a biology major. A member of Brandeis's Pre-Veterinarian Society, Medici worked at Division of Lab Animal Research at the Nathan Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research last summer. She is a seven-time Dean's List member of three-time Academic All-UAA selection.

Senior infielder Drew Michaud of Madison, Connecticut, was honored for the baseball team. Michaud led the Judges in home runs and RBI this season with three and 20, respectively. Overall, he hit .222 with a .341 on-base percentage and .352 slugging. For his career, Michaud was a .241 hitter with 53 hits, eight doubles, seven home runs and 50 RBI. Off the field, Michaud carries a 3.54 grade-point average and will graduate with a degree in chemistry. He was a three-time Academic All-UAA who engaged in Synthetic Organic chemistry research on campus last summer.

All four student-athletes will now be eligible for College Sports Communicators Academic All-America honors for basketball, which will be announced in mid-June. The Division IIII CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Division III Academic All-America® programs.

Boyer is a 2021 graduate of Grassfield High School.

Cohen is a 2020 graduate of the Benjamin School.

Medici is a 2019 graduate of Clarkstown North High School.

Michaud is a 2019 graduate of Xavier High School.
