ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Brandeis University men's basketball starters outscored their counterparts from Emory University, 46-23, as the Judges defeated the Eagles, 69-41, in a University Athletic Association contest. The win was Brandeis's sixth in a row against Emory in Brian Meehan's tenure as head coach.

The Judges (11-8, 4-4 UAA) moved into a three-way tie for fourth place in the league thanks to 12 points each from sophomore guard Floria Rexhepi (Skopje, Macedonia) and rookie reserve gaurd Huston Conti (Edmonds, Wash.). Forward Joe Coppens (Rockland, Mass.) added 11 points, while Stephen Hill (Brighton, Mass.) pulled down a game-high nine rebounds. Brandeis enjoyed a 40-28 advantage on the boards while holding the Eagles to 27 percent shooting (15-54) and hitting 50 percent of their own shots (26-52).

Emory (8-11, 1-7 UAA) got a game-high 15 points from sophomore Spiros Ferderigos and 12 from senior Jeff Hall in his first game returning from an injury, but no other Eagle player scored more than five points.

Brandeis trailed briefly early, 5-2, but a 22-8 run capped by five straight points by Conti gave the visitors a 24-13 lead that wouldn't fall below double figures again. The Judges took a 42-23 lead at halftime and led by as many as 31 points in the second half before cruising to victory.
