ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Despite a game-high from junior Jordan Cooper (Weston, Fla./Sagemont School), the Brandeis University men's basketball team dropped an 88-61 decision in their second University Athletic Association (UAA) road contest of the season to the 11^th-ranked Washington University, 88-61. The Judges fall to 6-9 overall and 2-3 in the UAA, while the Bears improve to 13-3, 5-0 UAA.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Washington University never trailed in the game.
• They scored the first nine points of the contest capped by Michael Bregman's 3-pointer.
• Brandeis junior Carlin Haymon (Cambridge, Mass./Rivers School) got the Judges on the board with a 3-pointer, but the Bears answered with the next four points to established a double-digit lead.
• The Judges got within seven on a couple of occasions after that, but trailed 40-29 at halftime.
• The Bears opened the second half with an 8-2 streak and the Bears never looked back.

FOR THE JUDGES

• Cooper led all scorers with 23 points, 11 in the first half and 12 in the second.
• He shot 9-for-18 from the floor, 1-for-4 from downtown, and 4-for-5 from the line.
• Cooper matched his season-high in scoring with his sixth 20-point game of the season and the 17^th of his career.
• Cooper also topped the Judges with seven rebounds.
• Junior Nate Meehan (Lowell, Mass./Phillips Andover) had nine points, hitting 3-of-9 from 3-point range.

FOR THE BEARS

• WashU had four players reach double digits in scoring. Bregman had 17 points, as did Jake Knupp off the bench. Knupp his 6-of-6 from the field with a 3-pointer and 4-of-5 from the line.
• Matt Highsmith netted 15 points off the bench and Hooks finished with 14.
• Knupp and Andrew Sanders tied for game-high honors with eight rebounds each, while Knupp also led all players with six assists.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Washington U. hit 53% from the field (32-61) while holding Brandeis to 36% (21-58).
• The Bears also outrebounded the Judges, 41-29, though Brandeis had 22 second-chance points on 12 offensive boards.
