Harris nabs third UAA Player of the Week honor

WALTHAM, Mass. –  Men's Basketball sophomore Toby Harris of Durham, North Carolina, earned his third career University Athletic Association Player of the Week honors on January 24, 2023.  

Harris averaged 22.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in an 83-72 win over then-seventh-ranked  Rochester on January 20 and in a 73-71 loss to Emory in overtime on January 22. He had 19 points, six rebounds and three assists against U of R and 26 points, eight rebounds and two assists against Emory, when he played 43 of the game's 45 minutes. For the week, Harris shot 50 percent from the field (16-32) and from 3-point range (9-18).

Harris leads the UAA in scoring this season, averaging 20.2 points per game, while ranking eighth in the league at 6.6 rebounds per game. He also leads the league in 3-pointers with 59 and ranks third in 3-point percentage at 47.2 percent. Harris is also fifth in the league in free-throw percentage at 81.3 percent.

After their games against Rochester and Emory, the Judges dropped UAA decisions at home to Case Western Reserve and Carnegie Mellon University to fall to 11-7 overall, 3-4 in the conference. Brandeis meets CWRU and CMU this weekend on the road, starting with a trip to Cleveland to meet Case on Friday night at 7:30 p.m.

Harris is a 2021 graduate of Durham Academy.
