Men's fencing successfully defends Northeast Conference title

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- With a 5-0 record at the most recent Northeast Fencing Conference meet at Brown University, the Brandeis men's fencing team successfully defended their NFC crown, finishing with a 10-0 record in the league.

The Judges had narrow wins in four of their five matches. After defeating Dartmouth College handily, 23-4, Brandeis defeated host Brown, 17-10. They topped Boston College, 16-11, avenging a previous loss at the Beanpot championships, and then downed Vassar College, 15-12, in the closest match of the NFC season. Brandeis rounded out their perfect record with a 17-10 win over Tufts University.

Senior foil fencer Will Friedman (Newton, Mass./Newton North) posted the Judges' top record on the day with a 10-2, mark, while junior Will Bedor (Rego Park, N.Y./Francis Lewis) was 9-2 in the epee. More details, including individual weapon results, will be posted when available.
