* After a sweep at the hands of nationally-ranked squads from UPenn, Brandeis met their University Athletic Association rivals from NYU.
* Against the Violets, the Judges had a chance to nab a pair of victories, leading both matches going into the last few bouts. Men's foil owned a 6-0 lead, but the Violets won the final three matches, while the NYU epee squad won the final two bouts in overtime, falling 16-11. The women got a 7-2 win in sabre, their most successful weapon on the day, but couldn't match the seven wins in the other two weapons in a 15-12 loss.
* The teams split against Stevens Tech, with women's sabre's second 9-0 sweep of the day propelling them to a 16-11 victory, but on the men's side, a 5-4 split, with sabre for Brandeis and foil for Stevens, gave the Ducks the overall victory with a 6-3 win in epee.
* Brandeis bounced back beautifully by pulling out narrow wins over NJIT. With sabre down, 4-2, the Judges won the final four bouts, including the clinching win by sophomore Lucas Lin (Plano, Texas/Plano East). Epee had their best win of the day, 7-2, as Brandeis took it 16-11.
