ATLANTA, Ga. -- Facing their third nationally-ranked conference
opponent in as many games, the Brandeis University men's soccer
team fell at Emory University, 7-0, in University Athletic
Association (UAA) action today.
Brandeis (6-6-1, 0-3-1 UAA) managed just six shots, three of which
were on goal, compared to Emory's 16. The Eagles (12-1, 3-1 UAA)
opened the scoring in the sixth minute on a goal by Patrick Carver
and never looked back. Senior Karl Dix picked up an assist on the
goal as part of a six-point day. Dix had two goals 10 minutes apart
in the second half, and also assisted EU's second goal. Reserve
forward Alex Grigalunas also had two goals for the hosts, the No.
17 team in the nation.
Brandeis senior Matt Kaplan (Melville, N.Y.) made one save in 77
minutes of play.
