WALTHAM, Mass. – The senior members of the Brandeis
University men's soccer team accounted for six goals and four
assists today as the Judges defeated Colby-Sawyer College, 9-0, in
their regular-season home finale. The nine goals scored by the
Judges were their highest total since 1996.
Brandeis (8-5-3) was paced by a hat trick from senior forward Mike
Snyder (Ashby, Mass.), who scored twice in the game's first 10
minutes and assisted the Judges' third goal in the 12th minute.
Senior forward David Spear (Huntington, N.Y.) and senior midfielder
Yuval Ezer (Netanya, Israel) each contributed a goal and an assist.
Spear's goal was the first of his career. He also had a nice
assist, flicking a header to Snyder on the game's first goal.
Also tallying in their final appearance on Gordon Field were
midfielders Jordan Skolnick (Mansfield Center, Conn.), who had his
second career goal, and Scott Zackaroff (Bath, Ohio), who assisted
Snyder's third goal.
Colby-Sawyer (6-9-2) managed 11 shots, but only two of them ended
up on-goal. Junior netminder Bill Closs (Merrimack, N.H.) had eight
saves for the Chargers in a losing effort.
Brandeis travels to Lasell College on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. before
heading to Washington University in St. Louis and the University of
Chicago for UAA play this weekend. Colby-Sawyer wraps up its
regular season on Wednesday at Wentworth Institute of Technology
