NEW LONDON, N.H. (courtesy Colby-Sawyer sports info) - Brandeis
University Sophomore midfielder Corey Bradley (Holyoke, Mass.)
scored two goals just eight minutes into the second half as the
Judges went on to defeat the Chargers of Colby-Sawyer 2-0 in
non-conference action Monday afternoon.
The Chargers played much of the game a man down, thanks to an early
red card, but stellar defensive play from Nic DeZenzo (Methuen,
Mass.) and the rest of the Chargers denied the Judges a chance at a
first half score.
In the second half, the Judges would capitalize, scoring in the
53rd minute to take the 1-0 lead, thanks to Bradley's goal off a
pass by senior tri-captain Evan Duval (Wilbraham, Mass.).
Just under a minute later, the Judges scored again, as Bradley took
a feed from sophomore Alex Zenerovitz (Acton, Mass.) and beat a
diving Chris Feltes (Manchester, N.H.) for the game's second
score.
Brandeis out-shot the Chargers 14-8 on the game.
For Colby-Sawyer, Feltes made five saves while Brandeis sophomore
keeper Taylor Bracken (No. Andover, Mass.) made four in his second
shutout of the season.
The Chargers (4-5-2) return to action on Wednesday, October 3, when
they travel to Wenham, Mass. for a 3:30 p.m. match-up with The
Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) opponent Gordon College.
Brandeis (4-3-2) next plays host to MIT on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Bradley scores twice to lead men's soccer past Colby-Sawyer, 2-0
