NEWTON, Mass. -- The 15th-ranked Brandeis University men's soccer team waited until their final shot of the contest to find the back of the net as the Judges escaped host Lasell College, 1-0, on Taylor Field today.

The game-winning goal game on Brandeis's (4-0) 21st shot of the game in the 83rd minute. Sophomore midfielder Josh Ocel (North Attleboro, Mass./Worcester Academy) delivered a corner kick into the box, where he found the head of classmate Zach Vieira (Andover, Mass./Brooks School) on the far post. Vieira elevated and redirected it back across the goal mouth and in. The goal was Vieira's second of the season and his second game-winner in as many contests. The assist was Ocel's team-leading third of the season, tied for most in the University Athletic Association

Brandeis outshot Lasell (1-4), 21-4, for the contest, but Laser junior netminder Miguel Colmenares (Caracas, Venezuela/Colegio Claret) matched his career-high with eight saves to keep the home team in the contest. He stopped Judge senior forward Tyler Savonen (Orleans, Mass./Nauset Regional) three times and classmate Michael Soboff (Framingham, Mass./Newton North) twice. Six of Colmenares's eight stops came in the second half.

Brandeis junior Joe Graffy (Concord, N.H./Concord) had one stop, in the 76th minute of Lasell's Nick Liquori (Westfield, Mass./Westfield), to earn the win. The shutout was Graffy's second of the season and 10th of his career.

The Judges return home on Saturday evening at 6 p.m. to face Clark University. Lasell is back in action Saturday at 2:30 p.m. for their GNAC opener at St. Joseph's (Maine) College.
