WALTHAM, Mass. – In their final regular-season home game today, the Brandeis University men's soccer team battled the visiting University of Rochester to a scoreless draw after 110 minutes of action on Senior Day. With the draw, Brandeis moves to 5-7-3 overall on the season, 2-2-2 in the University Athletic Association, while UR moves to 8-3-4, 2-3-1 UAA.

Rochester started the game on the front foot, outshooting Brandeis, 6-2, in the first half, and forcing Brandeis junior Aiden Guthro (Newburyport, Mass./Newburyport) to make the first two of his six saves on the day. He denied Tony Hypsher in the seventh minute and Tommy Nelson in the 39th. Guthro's shutout was his fifth of the season.

From there on, the game was all Brandeis, as they outshot Rochester 20-6 the rest of the way. Rochester's Santino Lupica Tondo made 10 saves to keep the Yellowjackets' sheet clean. In the 53rd minute, he came off the line to deny Judge first-year Gabriel Haithcock (Macon, Ga. / IMG Academy), then recovered in time to keep fellow rookie Eli Mones (Portland, Ore. / Grant) from scoring. In overtime, Brandeis senior Isaac Mukala (Malden, Mass. / Lawrence Academy), one of the heroes of Friday night's 3-2 win over Emory, was denied twice on good scoring opportunities by Lupica Tondo.

With the draw, Brandeis moved to 3-2-3 in overtime this season, while Rochester is now 1-1-4 in extra time. This was the first tie between the two teams since 2012 and snapped a three-game winning streak in the series by the Yellowjackets.
