Men's swimming downs Clark, 133-104, on senior night

 WORCESTER, Mass. -- In their next-to-last dual meet of the season, the Brandeis men's swimming and diving team defeated host Clark University, 133-104. The Judges improved to 4-4 with the win, while Clark suffered its first dual-meet loss of the season, falling to 4-1.The night also served as Senior Recognition Night for the Brandeis Class of 2009.

Among the multiple winners on the night for the Judges was senior Robert Morse (Hope, R.I./Bishop Hendricken). Morse captured the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:48.46 and took the 500 in 4:57.69, both season-best times. Classmate Michael Rubin (Bangor, Maine/Bangor) contrbuted to the Judges' victory by taking third place in both events.

Junior James Liu (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow) added wins in the freestyle sprints, takng the 50 in 22.02 seconds and the 100 in 47.94 seconds. Sophomore Aaron Bennett (Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) showed versatility in winning the 1000 freestyle (10:30.87) and the 200 butterfly (1:59.53), while rookie Marc Eder (Princeton, N.J./Lawrenceville) captured the 200-yard individual medley (2:05.58) and the 200 breaststroke (2:14.27).

Brandeis also took both relays as junior Justin Wellins (Canyon County, Calif./Canyon), Eder, Bennett and rookie David Fei (Chelmsford, Mass.) won the 400 medley relay in 3:48.50 to open the meet, while Wellins, rookie Joshua Allgaier (Ambler, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham), Morse and Liu combined to close the meet by winning the 400 free relay in 3:19.27.
