Men’s and women’s swimming and diving falls to Bentley in a cross-town matchup

The Brandeis University men and women's swimming and diving team were unable to come away with the win despite strong performances by a handful of swimmers. The men fell by a score of 139-102 while the women lost 156-74.

Junior Brian Luk (Hong Kong/ Northfield Mount Hermon) led the way for the men by winning the 50-yard free and 100-yard fly events with a time of 22.16 and 54.06 respectively. Senior Max Fabian (Keene, N.H./ Oak Meadow) dominated the long distance events by taking the 1000-yard and 500-yard free events. Freshman Zach Diamond (Staten Island, N.Y./ Staten Island Academy) and freshman Joey Barr (Deerfield, Ill./ Deerfield) help the Judges sweep the 1000-yard free event by taking the second and third spot.
 
For the women, sophomore Joanna Murphy (Sarasota, Fla./ Riverview High School) grabbed the first event of the meet for the women, the 1000-yard free.  She also took the top spot in the 500-yard free, which secured the win in the long distance events for the Judges for both the men and the women.

Sophomore Colton Bridge (Tolland, Conn./ Tolland) for Bentley dominated the diving portion and was able to make cut the NCAA Diving Standard score of 300 for the 1-meter event with his score of 303.00.

The men and women's team next meet is at WPI on December 6th with the trials at 9AM and finals at 5PM.
