Four Judges place during day 3 of the UAA Swimming and Diving Championships

            The Brandeis University swimming and diving team were able to carry momentum from the first two days of the 2015 University Athletic Association championships at Emory University into the third day with four swimmers placing in individual contests.

            Junior Fallon Bushee (Malden, Mass./ Mystic Valley Regional Charter Sch.) and senior Max Fabian (Keene, N.H./ Oak Meadow) were able to set lifetime bests in the events they placed in. Bushee earned a lifetime best in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:12.81 placing her in 24th while Fabian earned his in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:07.61 and 14th place. Fabian's finish is the highest by any swimmer.
 
            Freshman Amy Sheinhait (Framingham, Mass./ Framingham) and freshman Sherry Tu (Guangdong, China/ Our Lady of Mercy School for Young Women) were able to place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.16 and 1:02.83 for 20th and 23rd place, respectively.
 
            Sheinhait was able to set a university record in the first leg of the 200-yard medley relay race for the backstroke portion with a time of 28.50. Her team of Bushee, Tu, Murphy were able to finish 8th with a time of 1:56.11. For the men, sophomore Edan Zitelny (Syosset, N.Y./ Syosset High School), freshman Adib Milani (Vienna, Va./ Marshall), Luk, and Braz had a time of 1:37.66 that landed them in 8th place.
 
            Freshman Sam Zucker (Omaha, Neb./ Anderson) finished in 11th place in the 3-meter dive with a score of 275.65.
 
            In the 800-yard freestyle relay race, sophomore Joanna Murphy (Sarasota, Fla./ Riverview High School), Sheinhait, freshman Yi Sul Richter (Colorado Springs, Colo./ Vista Ridge, United World College of Southeast Asia), and Bushee were able to grab 7th place with a time of 8:08.62. The team of sophomore Cameron Braz (Monson, Mass./ Monson), Fabian, junior Brian Luk (Hong Kong/ Northfield Mount Hermon), and freshman Zach Diamond (Staten Island, N.Y./ Staten Island Academy) finished in 8th place with a time of 7:06.49.
 
            After a third day, the men are in 8th place with a total score of 290 while the women have a score of 209 and also sit in 8th. The contest continues through Saturday.
