BUSDT teams earn Academic honors from CSCAA

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Brandeis University Swimming and Diving teams have been honored by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams for posting a 3.0 GPA or better for the Spring semester. It marks the 10th time under head coach Mike Kotch the Brandeis women have earned the award – and 52nd-straight semester dating back to the Jim Zotz era - and the ninth time in 10 semesters for the men under Kotch.

The Brandeis women compiled a team GPA of 3.32, while the men were at 3.33.

"I'm thrilled that so many of our student-athletes are being recognized for their hard work in and out of the classroom," said Director of Athletics Lynne Dempsey '93. "Representing Brandeis in athletics and doing well in school have never been mutually exclusive and these teams prove that year in and year out."

In addition, rising sophomore Tamir Zitelny was recognized as an Individual Scholar All-American after  achieving a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and achieving a qualifying time for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
