Getting to know Leone...
My favorite part about competing for Brandeis, other than my teammates, is: the opportunity to be a part of something greater. Nothing brings people closer together than training every day and working towards a common goal
My favorite athletic moment at Brandeis has been: Beating Bentley in our only dual meet during our COVID season! It was awesome to have an opportunity to compete and coming out with the win against a D2 school was a thrill. Needless to say the battle of the Waltham schools was settled
My favorite high school/non-Brandeis athletic moment is: Nothing tops winning against our rival school, Natick, on my own senior night, where both teams had been undefeated up until that point. That meet decided who would win the Bay State Title, and it all came down to the last event, which was the 4x100 freestyle relay. That was probably the most thrilling race of my life, and nothing was more rewarding than coming out with the win and securing the conference championship
My Goal for the 2021-2022 season is: to come back from COVID with a bang. Despite the difficulties we all faced last year, I couldn't be more excited to face a new, "normal," season and see what the Judges can do against the UAA.
My favorite class/professor at Brandeis is: I really enjoyed BIO14A (Genetics and Genomics) with Professor (Rachel) Woodruff because the curriculum was interesting, engaging, and relevant to the state of the world in regard to COVID.
The thing that attracted me most to Brandeis was: I love the atmosphere at Brandeis and the delicate balance between every aspect of life on campus. Brandeis makes it easy to juggle academics, athletics, social extracurriculars, and jobs as well as internships. I couldn't be more thankful for the environment we all share.
My favorite place on campus, outside of Gosman, is: The dining halls
Something new I learned during COVID-19: how to be disciplined and motivated even when I didn't have much change of scenery
My favorite place to travel is: Croatia, it is the most amazing place that I have been fortunate enough to explore.
I want to study abroad in: Copenhagen I have never traveled to that region of the world and I would love to explore Europe!
My favorite thing to do at Brandeis is: to stay fit by cooking and eating healthy meals
My summer job/experience was: Interning at Greater Boston Urology in Dedham and lifeguarding at various locations in my hometown
My dream job is: I would love to enter the world of hospital administration and combine aspects of both business and medicine
My favorite movie of all time is: Grown Ups
My favorite TV Show is: House, M.D.
My favorite song is: Headlines by Drake
Performer who would play me in the movie of my life: Probably Jonah Hill because he'd definitely make it funny
If I could time travel, the era I would go to would be: I'd actually prefer to live in the era that we are in now. I like the way things are and am happy to have the opportunities that I do
My favorite pro sports team is: The New England Patriots because they had what is arguably the greatest dynasty in sports history
My most memorable professional sports moment is: The record-breaking Men's 4x100 freestyle relay during the 2008 Olympic games
If I were on Jeopardy!, my dream categories would be: Probably something health/fitness related, but I'm not too confident in my Jeopardy skills
