No. 30 men's tennis defeats Oneonta State, 8-1
MIDDLEBURY, V.T. - The No. 30 Brandeis University men's tennis team topped Oneonta Sate, 8-1, in last night's contest hosted at Middlebury College.  With the win, the Judges advance to 5-3 on the season and the Red Dragons fall to 3-1.

The Judges were paced by the No. 17 doubles team of seniors Simon Miller (Plantation, Fla./Plantation) and Nick White (Wellesley, MA/Wellesley).  The pair played a tight game in the number one spot before ultimately defeating Jon Dorin (Lynbrook, N.Y. / Lynbrook) and Will Sacco (Canandaigua, N.Y. / Naples), 9-8 (5).  Sophomores David Yovanoff (Eden, NY/Eden) and Steven Milo (Woodbury, NY/Syosset) were victorious in the second seed, winning their match 8-5.  In the third spot sophomore Josh Jordan (Northboro, Mass./Algonquin Regional) and senior Ezra Bernstein (Buffalo, NY/City Honors School) won, 8-5, to give Brandeis a 3-0 lead going into singles action.

In singles action, Brandeis was victorious in the first four positions, with the third and fourth spots decided in a tie-breaker.  Yovanoff topped Sacco, 4-6, 6-1, 7-6 (2) in the third seed and Milo won, 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-2), in the fourth spot.  Jordan fell to John Taft (Queensbury, N.Y. / Glens Falls) in the fifth spot, 0-6, 6-3, 1-1 (10-5), but Bernstein topped his opponent, 6-2, 6-2 in the sixth position to seal the game for the Judges.

Brandeis is in action again today when they take on Connecticut College today at noon at Middlebury.

The Red Dragons also face Connecticut College today at 2:00 p.m..
