ORLANDO, Fla. -- The sixth-seeded Brandeis men's tennis team fell in the quarterfinals of the 2012 University Athletic Association tournament at Orlando, Florida today, dropping an 8-1 decision to 17th-ranked and third-seeded Washington University.

The Judges got their only point of the afternoon in doubles play, where a pair of sophomores, Josh Jordan (Northboro, Mass./Algonquin Regional) and Steven Milo (Syosset, N.Y./Woodbury) won, 8-6, over the Bear tandem of Parker Chang annd Kareem Farah. Unfortunately, the Judges couldn't break through in singles action. Milo's 6-4, 6-4, loss at No. 1 singles was the closest of the six matches, while rookie Michael Secular (Bronx, N.Y./Plant, Fla.) dropped a 6-4, 6-3 decision at No. 6.

With the loss, the Judges fell to 4-13 on the season, but eight of their losses have come at the hand of nationally-ranked squads, while two other defeats came to Division I programs.

Up next for Brandeis in the consolation bracket is seventh-seeded NYU, who pushed No. 2 seed Carnegie Mellon  before falling, 5-4. The Judges bested the Violets earlier this season, 6-3.
