Seniors star as men's tennis wraps home slate with 7-2 win over Clark

WALTHAM, Mass. -- The Brandeis men's tennis team snapped a three-match losing streak today as the Judges defeated visiting Clark University, 7-2, on the Rieger Tennis Courts. The Judges improve to 7-9  on the season, while the Cougars fall to 11-8.

In their final home match, the four senior members of the Judges all contributed points in doubles action. At No. 1 Steven Milo (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) and Josh Jordan (Northboro, Mass./Algonquin Regional) were narrow winners, 8-6, with Jordan playing his first match in just under a month. The other two seniors team with rookies for their wins. David Yovanoff (Eden, N.Y./Eden) paired with freshman Danny Lubarsky (Cleveland, Ohio/Hawken School) at No. 2 for an easy 8-2 win, while Jon Ostrowsky (Newton, Mass./Newton) was with Mitch Krems (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Century Acad.) for an 8-6 win at No. 3. 

In singles action, Milo and Yovanoff were double winners in their final home match. Milo cruised past Diego Angle, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 1, while Yovanoff was a 6-3, 6-1, winner at No. 3 against Zach Goodstein of the Cougars. Krems had Brandeis's easiest win at No. 2, a 6-2, 6-0, victory over Antoine Martin, while sophomore Alec Siegel (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) bounced back from a tough first set to win 12 straight games, 4-6, 6-0, 6-0. 

Brandeis will travel to MIT tomorrow before facing Washington University as the sixth seed of the 2013 University Athletic Association tournament on Friday in Orlando, Fla.
