#32 Men's tennis rolls rolls to 6-3 win over Babson

 Wellesley, Mass.- The #32-ranked Brandeis men's tennis team earned its third straight road win, defeating Babson College, 6-3. The Judges improve to 5-3, while the Beavers fall to 3-5.

After losing the opening match in doubles action, Brandeis rolled off wins in their next two. Senior Danny Lubarsky (Cleveland, Ohio/ Hawken School) and junior Brian Granoff (Miami, Fla. / Gulliver Prep.) opened things up with an 8-1 win at No. 2, while sophomore Eric Goldberg (Solon, Ohio/ Solon) and rookie Zach Cihlar (Phoenix, Ariz. / Brophy College Prep.) were 8-1 winners in the No. 3 spot.

The first three matches in singles action were closely contested. The Beavers took the opening match, which featured a tiebreaker in the first set. Then, Granoff put the Judges on the board with a 6-3, 1-6, 10-8 victory at No. 2. After Babson tied the competition with a three-set win at No. 3, Brandeis reeled off three straight victories. Rookie Tyler Ng (Great Neck, N.Y./ Great Neck South) took No. 4 at 6-3, 6-1, Lubarsky won No. 5 at 6-0, 6-2, and junior Jeff Cherkin (Melville, N.Y./ Half Hollow Hills East) closed out the scoring with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 6.

The Judges host Wheaton (Mass.) College tomorrow at 3:00 PM.
