WALTHAM, Mass. – Brandeis University sophomore David Aizenberg of Highland Park, Ill., and rookie Noah Gans of Newton, Mass., were selected as University Athletic Association (UAA) Athletes of the Week for men's tennis and men's soccer, respectively.

Aizenberg was honored for his performance at the 2017 Wallach Invitational at Bates College. He teamed with rookie Anupreeth Coramutla of Morrison Township, N.J., to win the 'A' doubles bracket. It was their second tournament win of the season, having also captured the MIT Invitational the week before. Aizenberg also had a successful run in the 'B' singles bracket, where he emerged from a play-in match to reach the finals, winning three matches in a row in three sets.

The Brandeis men's tennis schedule is complete for the fall. The Judges return to action in February with a trip to California.

Gans was honored for his two-goal performance against Clark University on Oct. 18. He scored goals in the 26th and 40th minutes as the Judges defeated the Cougars, 5-1. They were the second and third goals of his career.

With the win, Brandeis improved to 11-3 on the season. The Judges are currently ranked No. 18 in Division III by D3soccer.com and No. 23 by the United Soccer Coaches. Brandeis closes out its regular season with three-straight home UAA matches, starting Friday evening against Washington University at 5 p.m.

Aizenberg is a 2016 graduate of Highland Park High School.

Gans is a 2017 graduate of Newton South High School.
