#18 men's tennis downs Babson, 7-2

BABSON PARK, Mass. – After reaching their highest national ranking under head coach Ben Lamanna earlier in the day, the 18th-ranked Brandeis University men's tennis team defeated local rivals Babson College, 7-2, on the road. The Judges improve to 8-2 with the win, while the Beavers fall to 5-2 as their three-match winning streak was halted.

The Judges rolled to a 3-0 lead after doubles action. Sophomore David Aizenberg (Highland Park, Ill./Highland Park) and rookie Anupreeth Coramutla (Monroe Township, N.J./Phillips Andover) opened the scoring with an 8-4 win at No. 1. Rookies Nikhil Das (Smithfield, R.I./Moses Brown School) and Rajan Vohra (Glen Head, N.Y./North Shore) got an easy 8-1 win at No. 3, and juniors Jackson Kogan (Pacific Palisades, Calif./Windward School) and Tyler Ng (Great Neck, N.Y./Great Neck South) completed the sweep at No. 2 with an 8-4 win.

The Judges picked up straight-set wins in four of the six singles matches. Vohra got thing started with a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles, while Aizenberg clinched the victory at No. 2 with a 6-3, 6-3 win. Das provided the sixth point with a 6-4, 6-2, win at No. 5. After the Beavers won a pair of three-set matches at the No. 1 and No. 6 spots, Ng closed out the match with a 7-6 (7-2), 6-4, triumph at No. 4.

The Judges return to action on Saturday, April 6, at 32nd-ranked NYU in a key matchup for seeding at the University Athletic Association tournament.
