Men's tennis takes second match of double header with another shut out against Endicott, 6-0

The Brandeis University men's tennis team ranked #10 took on Endicott College today in the second match of the Judges double header. It was more of the same for the Judges as they were dominant from start to finish in route to a 6-0 win. With the win the Judges improve to 12-2, while Endicott falls to 5-5.

In doubles play, rookie Colt Tegtmeier (Madison, Wisc. / James Madison Memorial) and senior Tyler Ng (Great Neck, N.Y. / Great Neck South) got things started at No. 1 claiming a 8-3 victory. Duo of rookie Nico Ramirez (Miami, Fla. / Gulliver Prep) and senior Zach Cihlar (Phoenix, Ariz. / Brophy College Prep.) earned a 8-1 victory at No. 3. To complete the doubles sweep it was junior Benjamin Wolfe (Blue Bell, Pa. / Wissahickon) and sophomore Ben Maffa (Lexington, Mass. / Lexington) getting it done at No. 2 earning a 8-1 victory.

In singles play, the Judges stayed hot at No. 2 as rookie Tegtmeier claimed a 6-1, 6-0 win, while at No. 1 it was sophomore Rajan Vohra (Glen Head, N.Y. / North Shore) who won by the same score, 6-1, 6-0. Sophomore Maffa secured the win by shutting out his opponent in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, while the match being played by junior Wolfe was unfinished as he led 2-0. Matches five and six did not start, since the Judges had already won the match.

The Judges are back in action on Saturday as they will travel to play Bowdoin College at 1:00 p.m.
