WALTHAM, Mass. – In addition to their team berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament, the Brandeis University men's tennis team will send one individual and one doubles team to their respective tournaments, which will be held May 27-29 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Senior Anupreeth Coramutla of Monroe Township, New Jersey, will be making his first appearance in the NCAA singles tournament. Ranked fifth in the Northeast region, Coramutla had previously been selected to play in the 2018 NCAA Division III doubles championship but had to withdraw due to illness. He was also in line to be selected in doubles last year before COVID-19 canceled spring championships but was still honored as a doubles All-American. As the Judges' number one player this season, Coramutla posted a 5-1 record in his first season in Brandeis's top spot. He has been named All-University Athletic Association five times in his career – twice at No. 2 singles and three times at No. 1 doubles.

Juniors Jeffrey Chen of Northfield, Illinois, and Adam Tzeng of Eagle, Idaho, were selected to the doubles tournament. Ranked fourth in the Northeast, the duo went 2-3 at No. 1 doubles in their first season in the top spot this year. Tzeng, the UAA Rookie of the Year in 2019, and Chen have twice earned All-UAA honors for their doubles play in two seasons at No. 2 before moving into the top spot this year. As a pair over the last three years, Chen and Tzeng have compiled a 22-7 record, including going 14-1 as first-years in 2019. Tzeng, who is ranked No. 9 in the Northeast singles regional rankings, was also named as an alternate in the singles draw.

This will mark the first time since 1989 that the Judges will be represented in both singles and doubles at the NCAA Division III tournament in the same season. With their 6-1 team record, Brandeis will be making their first team appearance since 1989 as well, playing a second-round match at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Georgia, on Friday, May 14 after receiving a first-round bye.
