Morris-Evans sets p.r. in hurdles at Last Chance Meet

MEDFORD, Mass. -- The Brandeis University track and field teams concluded their 2023 indoor season on Saturday at the Tufts Last Chance Invitational at Tufts University, a non-scoring event.

TOP MEN'S PERFORMERS 

  • Senior Dion Morris-Evans (Canal Fulton, Ohio / Northwest) had a career performance in the 60-meter hurdles, setting a personal record not once, but twice. In the preliminaries, he finished with a time of 8.54 seconds, narrowly beating his previous best of 8.55. This earned him second place, qualifying for the finals. In the finals he dropped to fourth place, but shattered his short-lived personal best with a new time of 8.48 seconds. Morris-Evans also finished fifth in the high jump with a height of 1.88 meters, just shy of his personal record of 1.90 meters.

  • First-year TJ Carleo (Newburyport, Mass. / Newburyport) finished second in the 800-meter run, with a time of 1:53.81. This set a personal record, just edging out his previous best time of 1:53.84, which he set in last week's UAA invitational.

  • In the 60-meter dash, sophomore Danny Krigman (Chelmsford, Mass. / Chelmsford) tied his personal record, finishing 12th with a time of 7.20 seconds.

TOP WOMEN'S PERFORMERS

  • Sophomore Alya Campbell (Eastchester, N.Y. / Eastchester) finished 8th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.47 seconds. She qualified her for the finals, but was unable to finish the race.

UP NEXT

  • The Judges' regular indoor season is complete. They begin their outdoor season in the Bridgewater State Invitational on Saturday, March 25th.
