Yue wins twice for men in third-place finish at Regis

WESTON, Mass. – The Brandeis University men's track and field team picked up four event wins on Thursday at the Regis Spring Classic as the Judges finished in third place with 108 points.

TOP PERFORMANCES

  • First-year sprinter Matthew Yue (Vancouver, B.C. / Woodside Priory School) had the top performances on the day for the Judges. Yue won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.52 seconds, a p.r. by 0.15 seconds. He also anchored the winning 4x100-meter relay to victory with a time of 44.28 seconds. Also on the team were sophomores Jordan Colon (Devens, Mass. / Bromfield School) and Danny Krigman (Chelmsford, Mass. / Chelmsford), and first-year Leo Schiappa (Wareham, Mass. / Old Rochester Regional).
  • The Judges took both hurdles events. Senior Dion Morris-Evans (Canal Fulton, Ohio/Northwest) won the 110-meter race in 15.59 seconds, while junior Samuel Kim (La Jolla, Calif. / Phillips Exeter (N.H.) won the 400-meter race in 1:00.32. It was Kim's first-ever collegiate competitive 400 hurdles.
  • Brandeis also had several second-place finishes.
  • Krigman was second in the 200-meters in 23.02 seconds, just ahead of Morris Evans, who was third in 23.42 seconds. Both times represented a p.r.
  • The Judges had two more personal bests in the 400 meters, where Schiappa was second in 52.58 seconds and junior Young Wang (Hopkinton, Mass. / Hopkinton) was third in 54.18 seconds.
  • Senior Artemis Reynolds (Cherry Valley, Mass. / Leicester) was second in the hammer throw (40.46m, 132-9) and third in the discus (39.04m, 128-1). Their throw in the hammer was a personal best.
  • Sophomore Cam Peirce (Kittery, Maine / Portsmouth Christian Academy) was third in the shot put (11.70m, 38- 4 ¾), while senior Jonathan Hau (Taipei, Taiwan / Taipei American School) was third in the hammer (37.66, 123-7).
