Third place finished lands the Judges in good position for third straight NCAA berth

Williamstown, Mass--Brandeis men's cross country came in third place this afternoon in the NCAA DIII Regional Cross Country Championship hosted by Williams College.  Their solid finish puts them in great position to receive their third straight NCAA championship berth.  

The Judges placed three runners in the top 25, including a seventh place finish from senior Paul Norton (Amherst, Mass./Amherst Reg.).  Norton ran his 8 kilometer race in exactly 26 minutes, just 2.3 seconds behind the sixth place finisher from MIT.  Also placing the in the top 25, were junior Marc Boutin (Westford, Mass./Westford Acad.) with a time of 26:16.3 and senior Chris Brown (No. Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford) with a time of 26:21.9.

For Norton, Boutin and Brown this is their third year in a row receiving All-New England recognition.

Also running well were rookie Ed Colvin (Roslindale, Mass./Catholic Memorial School), coming in 38th place--just shy of All-New England qualification--with a time of 26:44.0.  Senior Dan Anastos (Peabody, Mass./Peabody Veterans) finished 54th with a time of 27:02.0, classmate Kerwin Vega (Waltham, Mass./Waltham) finished just behind him in 55th, with a time of 27:02.9.  Senior Devon Holgate (Cumberland, R.I./Cumberland) ran a fine race, coming 72nd witha time of 27:20.1

NCAA championship announcements come out on Monday, November 15.
