No. 33 men's cross country finishes second at UMass Dartmouth

NO. DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The 33rd-ranked Brandeis men's cross country team put five runners among the top 32 to finish in second place out of 34 teams at the 2011 UMass-Dartmouth Shriner's Invitational

Senior co-captains Chris Brown (No. Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford) and Marc Boutin (Westford, Mass./Westford Acad.)  led the way with top-10 performances over the 8K course. Brown finished fourth overall with a time of 24:56.74, while Boutin was 15 seconds behind with a time of 25:11.99. Sophomore Taylor Dundas (Bath, Maine/Cheverus) put three Judges in the top 13 with a time of 25:19.73. Junior Alex Kramer (No. Andover, Mass./No. Andover) came in 26th in 25:43.70, while sophomore Ed Colvin (Roslindale, Mass./Catholic Memorial School) was 32nd overall in 25:57.19.

The Judges, who are ranked seventh in New England and 33rd nationally, finished with 79 points, second only to MIT's 31. The Engineers are second in the region and 11th in the country in Division III.
