WALTHAM, Mass. – On Saturday November 10, the Brandeis cross country teams wrapped up their 2012 seasons at the NCAA Division III New England regional championships at Westfield State University. The men came in 13th out of 50 teams, while the women were 16th out of 51 squads.

On the men's side, the Judges put their top five runners just over one minute apart, just missing putting all five among the top 100 competitors. Junior Ed Colvin (Roslindale, Mass./Central Catholic School) led the way, but was unable to claim his first All-New England honor, finishing in 50th place out of the 351 entrants with a time of 26:01.17 over the 8K course. Colvin finished in 49th place a year ago.

In the first regional meet and the final cross country race of his career, senior Mik Kern (Groton, N.Y./Groton) turned in a fine performance, placing 62nd with a time of 26:16.10. It was the second time this season that Kern was the squad's second runner. Classmate Alex Kramer (No. Andover, Mass./No. Andover) was the third finisher for the Judges, coming in 72nd with a time of 26:27.86.

Sophomore Jarrett Harrigan (Ipswich, Mass./St. Johns Prep) was not far behind Kramer, coming in 77th with a time of 26:35.70, while classmate Greg Bray (Duxbury, Mass./Duxbury) just missed out on the top 100 by less than a second, finishing in 101st with a time of 27:03.55 to round out the scorers for the Judges.

Also running for the squad were sophomore Michael Rosenbach (Tampa, Fla./Berkley Prep, 120th, 27:23.39) and junior Taylor Dundas (Bath, Maine/Cheverus, 170th, 28:14.70).
