Miles Ketchum was named head coach of track and field in September 2023. 

Ketchum previously held the same position as head coach of track and field at WPI since 2021, having spent the prior 10 years as an assistant coach for the Engineers. Ketchum specialized in coaching the Engineers' sprinters, hurdlers and jumpers, while also serving as an assistant coach of cross country.  Ketchum was a four-time United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Regional Assistant Coach of the Year, earning the honor on a national basis in 2016.

Over the course of his career at WPI, Ketchum has coached 11 All-Americans, three runners-up at NCAA Championships and helped the WPI women to a ninth-place finish as a team at the outdoor championships in 2022. In total, he helped Engineer competitors qualify for the NCAA Championships 29 times, with 15 CSC Academic All-Americans and one Elite 90 winner, Katherine Pawlak, in 2022.

On a regional basis, Ketchum's teams have won three New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) team titles and 24 individual or relay titles. He's produced four NEWMAC Athletes of the Year and two conference Rookies of the Year. Eleven of his competitors have earned New England Division III Championships and three have earned New England All-Division titles, while 94 were All-New England Division III and 33 were All-New England for all divisions.

An NSCA certified strength and conditioning specialist, Ketchum also served as WPI's strength and conditioning coach since 2013.

Ketchum is a 2012 graduate of Wheaton (Mass.) College with a B.A. in sociology. He was a team captain for the Lyons as a senior, when he earned All-America honors as part of Wheaton's 1,600-meter relay team. Ketchum was also presented with Wheaton's Lyon's Award as the best exemplar of team values.
