WALTHAM, Mass. – Brandeis senior Caitlin Malcolm of Windsor Locks, Conn., hit a jumper with 10:39 left in the contest to become the University's all-time leading scorer and lead the Judges to a 65-49 victory over the visiting University of Rochester Yellowjackets in University Athletic Association (UAA) action today.

Malcolm, who had struggled in her last few contests, reached double figures for the first time in four games. After going 1-for-8 in the first half today for just four points, she hit four-of-10 in the second to finish with 12 points for the day and 1,355 for her career, two ahead of Racheal Perry '92.

Brandeis (17-4, 7-4 UAA, No. 21 nationally) was paced by a career-high 31 points and season-high 12 rebounds from junior Jaime Capra (Old Bridge, N.J.). Capra hit nine-of-20 from the floor and 13-for-15 from the free-throw line, scoring 21 points after halftime. The double-double performance was the fifth of her career. Capra also led the hosts with four assists. In addition to her 12 points, Malcolm led all players and tied a career-high with six steals. The Judges were able to overcome 35 percent shooting (20-57) of their own by holding Rochester to just 32 percent (17-54) and converting 23 Yellowjacket turnovers into 24 points.

Rochester (18-4, 7-4 UAA, No. 6 nationally) dropped its second-straight conference road contest after failing to reach the 50-point mark for just the third time this season. The Yellowjackets were paced by 12 points from senior Danielle Muller (Melville, N.Y.), who hit four-of-seven from the field with a 3-pointer, and three-of-four from the line. Sophomore Julie Marriott (Fairport, N.Y.) added 11 points and tied for team-high honors with eight rebounds, including four on the offensive glass. Sophomore Alex Porter (Rockville, Md.) matched Marriott with eight boards.

Brandeis owned a 27-23 lead at halftime after a late 7-2 run that was capped by a Jessica Chapin (Mendon, N.Y.) trifecta. The Judges then opened the second half on a 13-4 streak over the first 5:21, with Capra and Malcolm scoring all the Brandeis points in the stretch to give Brandeis a 40-27 lead. UR scored the next two buckets to get back within nine at 40-31, and were within single digits at 42-33 with 11:34 remaining. At that point, Brandeis scored 12 unanswered points, including Malcolm's record-setting bucket, to go ahead 54-33 with 7:40 on the clock and the contest was never closer than 14 points after that.
