WORCESTER, Mass. – All thirteen active players on the roster scored points tonight as the Brandeis University women's basketball team closed out their non-conference schedule with a 72-45 victory at Clark University.
TEAM RECORDS
- Brandeis, 5-6.
- Clark, 6-6.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Clark scored the first six points of the game over a span of 80 seconds.
- The Judges responded by scoring the next 17 in a row, highlighted by a pair of Mollie Obar (North Yarmouth, Maine / Greely) 3-pointers. Brandeis ended the first period with a 19-8 lead.
- The second period was a tighter affair, with Brandeis outscoring the Cougars, 15-13. Senior Emma Reavis (Miami, Okla./Deerfield Acad., Mass.) paced the visitors with seven points in the quarter as they took a 34-21 lead into the locker room.
- Brandeis pulled away in the third quarter, scoring the first six points and eventually outscoring the home team, 24-9. Reavis added another six points as the Judges held Clark to just 3-13 from the field with nine turnovers.
- With a 58-30 lead heading into the fourth, the Judges led by as many as 31 points in the quarter before the final 72-48 margin.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Reavis finished with a team-high 15 points, 13 of which came in the second and third periods. She hit 7-of-13 from the field with a 3-pointer.
- She also had five rebounds, four steals, and three assists.
- First-year Molly James (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Upper St. Clair) scored a career-high 11 points off the bench, hitting 2-of-4 from the floor with a 3-pointer and a perfect 6-of-6 from the line.
- James outscored the entire Clark bench, which finished with just six points. In all, Brandeis's reserves totaled 37 points.
- Senior guard Tathiana Pierre (Jericho, N.Y. / Sacred Heart Academy) topped the Judges with six rebounds, while classmate Francesca Marchese (Staten Island, N.Y./Staten Island Academy) and sophomore Caitlin Gresko (Howell, N.J./Howell) matched Reavis with three assists.
- Guard Jacqueline Faulise led all players with 16 points for Clark, while Alana Schatzabel had 11 points for the Cougars.
- Sarah Zambrano had a game-high 10 rebounds – four on the offensive glass – while Cam Richey dished out a game-high five assists.
- Brandeis owned a 48-40 advantage on the boards and forced 30 Clark turnovers to 19 of their own.
