ATLANTA, Ga. -- For the third time in the last four meetings, the Brandeis and Emory women's soccer teams needed overtime to decide matters, and for the third time the Eagles prevailed, taking a 1-0 University Athletic Association (UAA) decision in Atlanta today.

Emory (9-1-2, 3-1 UAA) controlled play for much of the game, but Brandeis (6-6-1, 1-3 UAA) sophomore netminder Betsey Medow (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) was up to the task for 98 minutes. Medow finished one shy of her season-high with 10 saves, including a span late in the first half when she made three stops in less than a minute.

The Eagles got a couple of corner kicks in the overtime period before breaking through. Emory's Jessie Dean picked up a yellow card with just over three minutes left in the first OT, but she came back to get an assist on Nancy Wilson's game-winning goal with just 1:27 left in the extra session.

In addition to their overtime streak against the Judges, interrupted only by a 2-0 Brandeis win in 2003, Emory has also its last two games this season in OT.
