Women's soccer falls at Chicago, 2-0

CHICAGO (taken from a UC press release) -- Junior forward Christine Farmer (Pine City, N.Y.) scored both goals as the University of Chicago women's soccer team defeated Brandeis University 2-0 in University Athletic Association action Sunday at Stagg Field.

The victory extended the Maroons' (12-4-1, 4-2-0 UAA) home winning streak to 17 games. Brandeis (8-5-3, 1-2-3 UAA) suffered its second-straight UAA loss after going 1-0-3 in its first four league contests.

Farmer scored her first goal at the 22:56 mark and her second of the day at 67:58. Both were a result of corner kicks. She now has 14 goals on the season, which matches the fifth-highest season output in school history. Farmer also notched her sixth multiple-goal performance of the year.

Junior goalkeeper Amanda Sutter (Irvine, Calif.) stopped two shots en route to her second shutout of the campaign. Brandeis junior Betsey Medow (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) suffered the loss.
