Women's soccer battles to scoreless draw with Rochester in UAA action

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (taken from a UR press release) - Brandeis junior goalkeeper Betsey Medow (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) made seven saves to earn the shutout as the Judges dueled ninth-ranked Rochester to a 0-0 tie in double overtime. The Judges are 6-3-2 overall, 0-0-2 in the University Athletic Association. Rochester is 8-0-2 overall, 1-0-1 in the UAA.

Rochester outshot the Judges, 21-6 and held a 6-0 advantage on corner kicks. The Yellowjackets pressured in the second half, outshooting Brandeis 10-1, but Medow and her defenders stood firm to record their third shutout of the campaign.

Molly Leitch made four saves in the Rochester goal. The shutout was the ninth in 10 games for the Yellowjackets this year and the first time the Judges have been blanked in 2006.
