WELLESLEY, Mass. (courtesy Wellesley College) – The
Brandeis University women's soccer team outshot host Wellesley
College, 29-5, today en route to a 3-0 win. The Judges allowed just
two shots on goal for the entire contest in recording their fifth
shutout of the season.
Brandeis (6-2-1) got on the board at the 31:04 mark, when rookie
forward Alanna Torre (Weston, Fla.) found the back
of the net off a corner-kick assist from sophomore back
Taryn Martiniello (Wilmington, Mass.). Judge
rookie reserve Kaitlin Oldfield (Raymond, N.H.)
scored seven minutes later on an assist from Torre to give Brandeis
a 2-0 lead into the break. The visitors added a security goal early
in the second period, when sophomore Tiffany
Pacheco (Rehoboth, Mass.) scored off an assist from junior
midfielder Melissa Gorenkoff (Woodbury, N.Y.).
Wellesley goalkeeper Katie Martore (Great Falls, Va.) was busy
between the posts, facing 29 shots while tallying seven saves.
Brandeis junior Hillary Rosenzweig (Boca Raton,
Fla.) notched two saves for the Judges.
Brandeis returns to action on Saturday, October 4, when the Judges

University Athletic Association opener. Wellesley takes the
field on Saturday as well, as they travel to Mount Holyoke for a
