CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (courtesy Lesley University sports information) – Lesley University (12-3-1) and Brandeis University (6-8-2) played to a scoreless tie after 110 chilly minutes on women's soccer action Tuesday night at Edward Field.

The teams combined for only 25 shots, 16 for Brandeis and nine for the Lynx, with the Judges putting nine on Lesley's Emileigh Lloyd (Middletown, Pa./Middletown). The freshman keeper, who entered the night with 13 saves on the season, was outstanding in saving all nine Brandeis shots on goal, easily a new career high as the freshman was the reason for the scoreless tie.

Lesley put six shots on goal, but a pair of Judges goalies denied all six in keeping the nation's third-leading offense silent for a full 110 minutes.

Late in the frame, a recently inserted Dani Chasin (Coral Gables, Fla/Gulliver) struck the best opportunity of a scoreless, back-and-forth first half. The Judges freshman lobbed a shot from inside the left corner of the keeper box toward the opposite post. Lloyd leaped and deflected the shot into the air and then crashing into the post, keeping the Judges off the board through halftime.

Brandeis outshot the Lynx 5-3 in the first half, with Judges starting keeper Francine Kofinas (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hills Hollows West) stopping two Lynx shots and Lloyd saving all three Brandeis attempts on goal.

Within a five-minute span late in the second half, one would-be goal for each team was erased on an offside calls. Hannah Landerholm (Edmonds, Wash./Meadowdale) looked to have beaten new Judges keeper Michelle Savuto (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood), but the shot was whistled dead on an offside. Moments later, at 78:05, Alyssa Fenenbock (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands) had a potential goal taken away for the same reason.

The teams went to overtime with the Judges owning a 9-8 lead in shots. Alanna Torre (Weston, Fla./American Heritage) missed from 20 yards just outside the top right corner of the goal at 95:24, and Kelly Peterson's (Houston, Texas/Clear Lake) try from just inside midfield was saved by Lloyd below the crossbar, sending the teams into a fourth period.

Savuto saved a shot from Lynx leading scorer Veronica Halen (San Diego, CA/Cathedral Catholic) off the opening kick, but it was the Lynx only quality chance of the period. A fatigued Lesley club playing minus All-NECC selection Jackee Sanchez held the Judges silent for a final 10 minutes in the Lynx first tie of 2011.

Lesley returns to action on Saturday, when it plays host to New England Collegiate Conference foe Newbury College on Senior Day at Edward Field. Brandeis travels to Emory on Friday night at 7:30.
