WALTHAM, Mass. – Three members of the Brandeis University women's soccer team have earned All-University Athletic Association (UAA) honors for the 2011 season. Seniors Alanna Torre of Weston, Fla., and Allison Maresca of Wyckoff, N.J., were both named second-team All-UAA, while sophomore back Kelly Peterson of Houston, Texas, was an honorable mention selection.

      Torre, a center midfielder, was an All-UAA second-team selection for the second year in a row. In 19 games this season, she scored two goals and had an assist while leading the team in shots with 60. Torre notched goals in non-conference games against Wellesley on Sep. 27 and against Babson on Oct. 6, when she tallied the game-winning goal in the 16^th minute. Torre finished her career with 10 goals and nine assists for 29 points in 79 games. She was also selected to represent Brandeis in the 2011 New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) Senior All-Star Game on Dec. 4 at Merrimack College.

      Maresca, a central defender, anchored the Brandeis defense by playing every minute of every game, scoring two goals. An All-UAA honorable mention as a sophomore, Maresca scored goals against Gordon College on Sep. 20 and against Wellesley on Sep. 27, when she scored the game-winner in the 10^th minute. Maresca played in 76 games in her career, starting 73, finishing with four goals and two assists for 10 points. 

      Peterson, also a central defender, was recognized by the UAA for the first time in her career. She also played every minute of all 19 games for the Judges, tallying a goal and two assists, all of which came in Brandeis victories. She scored the game-winner against Gordon on Sep. 20 and assisted game-winners against MIT on Sep. 3 and  Babson on Oct. 6. Peterson was extremely skilled with her set-pieces, often creating scoring opportunities for the Judges long distances from the goal.

      The Brandeis women's soccer team, in head coach Denise Dallamora's 29^th season on the sidelines, went 6-11-2 in 2011. The Judges missed the postseason for the first time since 2002, snapping a streak that included two ECAC Division III New England titles and an appearance in the 2010 NCAA tournament.

      Torre is a 2008 graduate of American Heritage School. She is the daughter of Carmen and Florencio Torre, Weston, Fla.

      Maresca is a 2008 graduate of Ramapo High School. She is the daughter of Sandy and Warren Maresca, Wyckoff, N.J.

      Peterson is a 2010 graduate of Clear Lake High School. She is the daughter of Doug Peterson and Randa McCartney, Houston, Texas.
