The Brandeis University Women's Soccer (4-1) team shot early and shot often as they defeat UMass-Boston (1-2-2) in a decisive 3-0 victory earning them four straight wins.

The Judges outshot their opponent in the first half 13-0 but only converted two of them into goals.  The first goal of the game came from sophomore Cidney Moscovitch (Coral Springs, Fla. / Coral Glades) when she received a pass from freshman Samantha Schwartz (Highland Park, Ill. / Highland Park) and made a brilliant one-timer past the keeper in the 15th minute.

Brandeis was able to double up when senior Sapir Edalati (Great Neck, NY / Great Neck South) kicked a perfect cross to junior Holly Szafran (Homewood, Ala. / Newton North) that ended up in the back of the net by a header during the 18th minutes. The defense was able to shut down the Beacons, giving them no shots in the first half.

Despite being down by two goals, UMass-Boston senior Krista Ledin (Bridgewater, Mass. / West Bridgewater) was able to become the leader for her team and get two of the three shots that the Beacons had.

Just when the game looked like it was going to end at 2-0 in favor of Brandeis, Moscovitch slid another underneath the keeper at 87:02. The final score of the game was 3-0 in a game that was dominated offensively and defensively by the Judges with a final shot count of 28-3 in favor of Brandeis.

For Brandeis, sophomore goalkeeper Alexis Grossman (Syosset, N.Y. / Syosset) faced no shots while senior Michelle Savuto (Ridgewood, N.J. / Ridgewood) saved all three shots that she faced. Kristen Spain of UMass-Boston had eight saves.

Brandeis returns to action on Wednesday with a home game against Gordon College at 4PM.
