NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (courtesy Smith College) – The Brandeis University women's soccer team used four different goal scorers en route to a 5-0 win over host Smith College in non-conference action Tuesdayafternoon.

For Brandeis, the win marks its ninth consecutive win, tying a school-record while improving to 9-1-0 on the season. The Judges, ranked 24th in Division III by D3soccer.com and receiving votes in the most recent NSCAA Division III Women's Soccer top-25 rankings, matched the mark set in 2003 and at the end of 2007 and start of 2008 seasons. With the loss, Smith now stands at 3-4-1 overall.

The Judges jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when Holly Szafran (Homewood, Ala./Newton North) delivered a corner kick to Sapir Edalati (Great Neck, N.Y./Great Neck South) who continued to find the scoring touch as she knocked the feed into the back of the net to give Brandeis a 1-0 lead at the 25 minute mark.

Brandeis doubled their lead four minutes later on Cidney Moscovitch's (Coral Springs, Fla./Coral Glades) 29th minute strike.

The Judges added second half goals from Edalati in the 65th minute, Lea McDaniel (Phoenix, Ariz./Chapparal) in the 78th minute and Melissa Darling (Weymouth, Mass./Weymouth) in the 86th to seal the win.

Edalati, who had as assist in addition to her two goals, moved into 11th on Brandeis's career scoring list with her five-point performance. With 26 goals and 12 assists for 64 points, she is two points shy of the top 10. Her 26 goals are 11th all time, two short of a tie for eighth place. Edalati's eighth career game-winner ranks ninth all-time.

Brandeis outshot Smith, 27-7 and held a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks. First-year Camryn Biasin (Lee, Mass.) made her first career start in goal for Smith, and was tested early and often. Biasin made a game-high 10 saves. Juniors Jordan Houston (Logan, Utah), Lily Eriksen (Seattle, Wash.) and Allie Rooney (Ludlow, Mass.) each notched a shot on goal to the lead the Smith offensive effort.

Brandeis will host Case Western Reserve on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in their University Athletic Association opener, while Smith will continue NEWMAC play with a trip to the Coast Guard Academy on Saturday at 1 p.m.
